PBOTD 1st May: George Jennison - May the Mare

Today's book is in the Black Beauty tradition, but it knocks Ginger's tales of cruel owners and Victorian London into a cocked hat.

A&C Black, first edition,1926
May tells her own story, but the horses she meets tell her some exotic tales. How about the tale told by a carthorse of a stallion and a tiger, set in India? The stallion is, rather cheeringly, called Man-eater, which gives you some idea of what happens.
